Auracast Maine Installations ~ So Far, So Good…
Hooray! The future is now! Thank you to audiologist Gary D. Schwartzberg, AuD, the Founder of Auracast Maine. He has tenacity, in-depth knowledge of hearing loss technology, and a giving heart. Gary has all the skills and drive to bring Auracast to many theaters in Maine. More to come!
Here comes Auracast!
August 2026 #1 The historic Strand Theatre Rockland – The Strand was the first! The staff was excited to announce the addition of Auracast™ broadcast audio to their sound system, in partnership with local audiologist Gary D. Schwartzberg, AuD and the generous support of Norman and Susan Thomas.
August 2026 #2 Waterville Opera House – The Waterville Opera House is among the first performing arts venues in Maine to offer Auracast™ technology! Additionally, there are some visual aids to help with Auracast™-compatible hearing devices and headphones.

August 2026 #3 Camden Opera House – Auracast has been installed!
Thanks to Auracast Maine, Camden Opera House has added Auracast to the sound system.
And more to come…
November, 2026 – Next up? Rumor has it that Watts Hall in Thomaston is a go! Unit ordered. Watch this space!
After installation, how do the theaters and venues ‘do it’?
The installation is an addition to the venue’s existing sound system and it basically consists of a transmitter and a transiever. The audio is projected to all Auracast-ready devices including hearing aids, cochlear implants, headphones and earbuds. If a patron doesn’t have any of these, each venue will have a number of auracast-ready headphones for your use. Anyone can receive the high quality audio!
Below is a list hearing devices and headphones/earbuds that will work.
